Sri Lanka has been awarded a Safe Travels Stamp from the World Travel & Tourism Council.
It was among 16 countries to earn the stamp for introducing and implementing protocols to ensure the safety of domestic and international travelers.
The Safe Travels Stamp is designed to promote confidence among travelers considering the island as a destination to travel to amidst the pandemic, as a way to recognize properties and businesses that diligently follow globally streamed health and hygiene protocols aligned with the WTTC’s Safe Travels Protocols.
The WTTC’s Safe Travels stamp is the first of its kind, specifically designed to combat the ramifications of Covid-19 and similar outbreaks. It is recognized and embraced by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
