The Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB), the organisation responsible for developing and promoting Sri Lanka’s Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry, has launched SL MICE Expo 2026.
The fifth edition of the flagship MICE event will take place in Colombo from October 5-9. The Expo is being organised in line with the SLCB Marketing Plan 2026.
Over 120 international hosted buyers and media representatives from 27 countries are expected to visit the Expo.
The programme will feature a business forum exploring current trends and opportunities in the MICE industry, together with an inaugural plenary session featuring keynote speakers.
It will also include a comprehensive business and networking programme comprising B2B meetings between international hosted buyers and Sri Lankan MICE suppliers to generate business leads, partnerships and future opportunities.
Networking events will provide opportunities for international and local industry professionals to build long-term relationships.
Destination experiences will showcase Sri Lanka’s tourism, cultural and leisure offerings, while familiarisation experiences will provide hosted buyers and media representatives with first-hand exposure to the country’s MICE capabilities and destinations.
The event will serve as a marketplace where buyers and sellers can explore new products and services, exchange industry knowledge and identify opportunities for collaboration.
Since its launch in 2021, SL MICE Expo has evolved from a virtual initiative into an international platform connecting Sri Lanka’s MICE industry with global buyers, media representatives and industry stakeholders.
Deputy Minister of Tourism (Prof.) Ruwan Ranasinghe said the Government recognises the MICE sector as a key driver of tourism growth and welcomed SL MICE Expo 2026 as an important platform to showcase Sri Lanka’s MICE potential to international buyers and media representatives.
SLCB Chairman Dheera Hettiarachchi also spoke.
